Happy, Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We had a busy one, but it was much-needed, with lots of family time. Every month we try to have a family date night and it’s probably one of my favorite things to look forward too. The girls and I get dressed up (of course this time we went casual) and John takes us to dinner and somewhere fun for dessert. This month we went downtown to a yummy restaurant, Foodworks. Since the weather has been very fallish, we sat outside on the patio. That was our first mistake with a hangry toddler. Riley Mae wasn’t having it because she didn’t like the cars driving by. (insert eye rolling emoji here) You’ll learn real quick that if Riley isn’t happy, no ones happy! After what felt like a 2 hour tantrum (it was probably 15 minutes), dinner came and sister was all smiles!
Quick picture before we went on our date! Can you spot the photo-bomber?
After dinner, we stopped by Julie Darling Donuts and picked up a half-dozen donuts. John’s eating lifestyle is more strict than the average person, so he rarely ever partakes in the dessert part of the date. Although he would never say it, I’m sure he wishes I wouldn’t either! HA
I’m a plain glazed + blueberry donuts kind of girl!
Saturday morning, we got up and got ready to go to the Old McDonald Farm. This is one of our favorite Fall rituals. It’s the cutest farm with tons of fun things to do geared towards the kids. They have a petting zoo, hay rides that take you to a pumpkin patch, fresh squeezed lemonade + food, a huge container filled with corn kernels that the kids can act crazy in and lots of other playful activities. It’s the perfect place to have a memorable family day.
Last year Riley hated the animals, but this year she really warmed up to them!
Alyssa has always had a love for animals. I think she could have stayed all day with this little babe!
Can we just take a moment and process how cute this Llama is? OMG! I think this was my favorite animal.
A quick bite to eat + some fresh squeezed lemonade! I seriously think it’s worth all the calories!
Waiting in line for the tractor ride. It’s not often Mama gets a photo with this little nugget, but you better believe when I get the chance, she does the forced smile.
How cute are they?
This chick thought she was something, waving to everyone as we passed by.
I changed my shoes after about thirty minutes of us getting there. I love booties… but I’m all about some comfort. {You can get all the details on this outfit under my Shop My Look section!}
It was a beautiful day out on the farm. Definitely one for the books!
Sunday was a slow lazy morning. Which I wasn’t complaining, I live for these kind of mornings. John made us breakfast and Riley wanted to snuggle. It’s not often she wants to snuggle, so I love to soak in these moments. After lunch, we headed to a costume themed birthday party for her (twin) friends. She wanted to dress up as Skye from Paw Patrol and I must say, she was the cutest Skye I’ve ever seen. But don’t let this sweet face fool you, right before this picture, she had a meltdown because she didn’t want to wear the wings/backpack that went with it. There’s nothing I love more than paying for an outfit and my child only wearing half of it.
It was her first time trying cotton candy. Of course she wasn’t a fan. Guess who had no problem taking it off her hands?
The birthday party was actually on a different farm. All the kids lined up to ride the pony. But as you can see, Riley wasn’t interested. Sigh.
She loved to watch her friends, though!
We ended the weekend with Chicken Taco’s for dinner and we were all in bed by 7:30 PM. It was a busy weekend, but a good one. I’m still trying to figure out this whole blog thing. I’m not going to lie, it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. Riley’s asked me a million questions just in the time its taken me to get this typed up, and I just got done chasing my dogs around the neighborhood because they tried to run away for the second time today. So please bear (did you know bear was a noun and a verb? Thanks spell check for teaching me that!) with me. I hope to have my Top Fall Must Haves up by the end of the week. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
**I need to give a shout out to my long time BFF, Monica! She has gone above and beyond to help me get this blog going and without her it wouldn’t be functional. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy life to help me with all of my crazy ideas. Love you to the MOON!***
XOXO- Lauren
