Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks at Disney. I mean, they’re all good and offer so many things, but this one always amazes me.
We started our morning at 7:30, with breakfast at Ohana’s. You can read all about it + The Polynesian Resort (where we stayed) here!
After breakfast, we got on a bus and went straight to Animal Kingdom. I always schedule our first fast pass for the Kilimanjaro Safaris, because the animals are more active in the mornings. Plus, this safari fills up fast. So 9AM is a perfect time + we were able to walk right on!
Kilimanjaro is always a must for us. Disney has really gone above and beyond with it, and it’s great for any age.
It was a little chilly this day (I think the high was 61), so there wasn’t as many animals out , but there was still enough to enjoy.
We had about an hour until our next fastpass, so we headed over to Pandora, and jumped in like for the Navi River Journey. This was the only time waited more than 5 minutes, and it was worth it. I would def recommend getting a fast pass for this if you don’t want to ride any of the other 1 tier rides.
After That ride, John wanted to try a snack, so we got the Night Blossom from Pongu Pongu and it was amazing! I’ve seen so many people post about it, so I was excited to try it! You can get Rum added to it, so you know I had to try that!
Hack: I’m a light weight, and they put a lot of rum on the top of your drink, so I poured some of my Rum into John’s drink (he got a normal one) and we both had an adult beverage. #WIN
After we got our drinks, we walked around Pandora and enjoyed all it’s beauty! They seriously made it so amazing, it’s hard to even describe.
Riley loved playing on the drums while her and John danced around!
After Pandora, we walked around to kill some time before we used our second fast pass on the Festival of the Lion King.
We had a ton of snack + quick service credits left, so we tried some food while we walked around.
John got the huge Cinnamon Roll and was only able to eat a fourth.
I went with a Chicken + Rice Bowl from Harambe Village, and it was pretty good for a QS meal.
Riley went with her normal popcorn, but of course I forgot to take a picture!
It was finally time for The Festival of the Lion King, so we headed there and enjoyed the show.
This is another must in our opinions. I’ve seen it twice and both times were great!
Riley was itching for some rides + fun, so we headed over to Dino Land, and sister was in heaven. Of course the first thing she spotted was the face painting (sigh), so she decided that’s what she wanted to use her money on it this was the final look.
Next stop was The Boneyard (aka- playground), which is always a favorite of hers.
Riley saw Launch Pad + Uncle Scrooge, and it was her mission to get a picture taken with them. So that’s just what we did.
After meeting some of her faves, we rode Triceratops Spin, which Riley thought was a lot of fun.
We were ready for another snack at this point, so we headed over to Trilo Bites and John and I got the Buffalo Chicken Nachos, which were ahhh-mazing!
Luckily, we were able to try the Apple Cider Donut Holes from Isle of Java, before they sold out!
Riley went with a cupcake.
She also got a pizza to go with the cupcake, but she devoured it before I could even think to get a picture.
This was our fourth day at the parks. We were tired + cold, so we ended up calling it an early day around 3 PM. So we headed back to The Polynesian Resort and relaxed in our room, and ate a low-key dinner on site.
It was a great slowed paced day, and we really enjoyed taking in Animal Kingdom with the low crowds.
Tune back in next Tuesday, where I’ll walk you through our trip to Hollywood Studios.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We’ll be testing out cars, so say a prayer John and I can agree on the same thing! Haha.
xoxo- Lauren
